Taggart Earthmoving Limited is a family owned business that was founded in 1953 and is now owned by second generation family members; Paul, Mark & Lisa Taggart. We deliver high quality civil construction & demolition services to the Canterbury region and beyond.
Over the past 67 years, Taggart’s has grown to employ 125 highly skilled staff members and now owns over 250 items of heavy equipment, trucks and light vehicles that operate from their three Canterbury depots, at Belfast, Yaldhurst and Rangiora.
Taggart’s are a “One Stop Shop” construction company that specialises in large scale earthworks projects, roading, subdivisions, siteworks, drainage, sheet piling & dewatering, demolition, heavy haulage, quarries & landscape supplies. We can offer a full suite of in-house services across any civil construction or demolition project which means our clients don’t have to deal with multiple subcontractors on their projects, therefore reducing the cost of site management, health & safety, quality assurance and compliance.
Taggart’s are ISO accredited for Health & Safety Management – 45001, Quality Management – 9001 & Environmental Management – 14001.
We take every opportunity to explore environmental and recycling options on the projects that we are involved with, which allows us to reduce costs and minimise the impact on the environment by finding ways to recycle or reuse products that can be recovered. This reduces the volume of material being deposited into landfills and minimises the number of truck movements required to dispose of material off site.
Taggart’s commitment to waste minimalisation and recycling have been recognised by the industry through being awarded the Civil Contractors NZ – Canterbury branch – Environmental Award for 2017 & 2018 and Most Progressive Company 2018, Along with the NZDAA 2019 award for a demolition project under $1 mil.
